Throwing for Improvers

Throwing for Improvers

£280.00

Refresh and refine your throwing skills - revisit, and sample new throwing and glazing techniques. You will explore how to make a variety of forms using a range of techniques and processes. Sessions will include demonstrations to encourage independent surface, form, material and design experiments. At the end of the course you will be able to solve problems to make increasingly complex, robust and refined functional pots.

Content:

Throwing: fiddly throws and adjusted forms. Glazing: selecting glazes and applying glazes to bisc, using resists. Good practice: managing workspaces and resources to avoid common technical problems.

Exceptions: weekend and three day courses do not include learning how to glaze, your pots will be glazed and fired in our transparent house glaze.

Prerequisites: you must have some experience working at the wheel - ideally having completed a level 0 course with Sunken Studio or equivalent and clocked at least 10 hours of throwing.

Duration: 15 hours.

Includes: non-refundable booking fee (2.5% of ticket value), all materials, and up to 4kg of fired work (unfired weight).
