We teach people how to make pots, in our big studio in Leeds.

About Us

Sunken-Studio-Open-Studios-2025_Joanne-Crawford-3.jpg

We’re technically minded types - the kind of people who find fulfilment in making things well.

Sunken Studio is a learning and resource centre for pottery, based in Leeds’ South Bank. We provide structured access to expert-led teaching, specialist facilities, and shared studio resources for people who want to develop their practice over time.

Our focus is on sustained engagement. We offer thoughtful access to tools, materials, and guidance that help people build confidence, deepen their understanding, and stay connected to making - whether they’re at the beginning or continuing a practice.

The studio is purpose-built for learning, experimentation, and shared knowledge. It’s a place to work at a considered pace, to repeat processes, test ideas, and learn through doing - without pressure to perform or produce to a particular outcome.

Sunken Studio supports people at different stages, but with a shared interest in commitment, curiosity, and working carefully with materials.
