Our ceramics markets bring together makers from Sunken Studio alongside a small selection of invited makers from further afield.

Some have found their way here through a course and gone on to build a practice in the studio. Others work from their own studios, developing their own materials, processes and ways of making. Not everyone is working towards a business. For some, making is something quieter and slower: a way of staying close to material alongside everything else that fills their week.

You’ll find makers refining techniques, testing glazes, developing familiar forms and trying something new. The work doesn’t follow a single style. What connects it is the attention given to process, material and the decisions made along the way.

The markets bring together small-batch and one-off pieces, often showing something of how they were made: thoughtful, personal, sometimes experimental. There’s care in them, and time. Small decisions held over many hours.

You’re welcome to drop in, browse, ask questions, or simply have a nosy. No rush. Come and see what the makers have been working on.
