  • Share the studio with friends

As a Sunken Studio member, you already know the satisfaction of working with clay - now you can share that experience with friends. Clay Social is a relaxed, untaught session where you take the lead, guiding your friends through the basics of working with clay in our specialist studio.

There’s no fixed outcome, just time and space to explore. Whether you’re shaping small creatures, crafting miniature buildings, or simply enjoying the feel of clay in your hands, Clay Social is an opportunity to introduce others to what makes this space special.

    What to Expect:

    • A relaxed, social session - bring one friend or a small group.

    • No formal instruction - you guide your guests through the basics.

    • Plenty of time to experiment, make, and enjoy working with clay together.

    What’s Included:

    • 2.5-hour session

    • 300g stoneware clay per person (additional clay available for £2.50 per puck)

    • Use of tools, equipment, and clean aprons

    • Firing and glazing optional (£10–£20 per piece)

Friends and family will need to book in advance, but as a member, your access is already covered.

    Guidance for Exhibiting & Marketing

To help you prepare for these markets, we have put together some simple guidance on exhibiting your work and marketing effectively:

    Preparing for the Market

    • Select your best pieces - consider what represents your work well.

    • Think about display - how will you present your work to make it inviting?

    • Price your pieces thoughtfully - consider the time and materials involved.

    Marketing Your Work

You are encouraged to take an active role in promoting your work. A collective effort will help ensure each market is a success. Here are some ways to promote effectively:

    • Social Media: Share your work on Instagram and tag @SunkenStudioLeeds

    • Email & Word of Mouth: Let friends, family, and customers know when and where they can find your work.

    • Photography: Good images help! Photograph your pieces in good light and share behind-the-scenes insights.

The Sunken Studio team will provide light promotional support, but the most meaningful engagement comes from you sharing your own work.Your audience will come to see your work.
